Certificate in Special Education is an autonomous program by New Horizons Institute of Education and Research (NHI) offering evidence-based strategies to develop skills in children through 100 interactive hours.
On completion of Certificate in Special Education program, student will:
Be able to understand characteristics and manifestations of common developmental concerns in children (Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Emotional and behavioral disorders).
Develop an understanding of typical development of literacy and math skills and its variation.
Be able to learn the system of Phonics to develop reading and spelling skills.
Gain skills and strategies that are immediately applicable to help students with diverse learning needs in reading, writing, math and written expression.
Learn about methods to develop effective learning and behavioral interventions.
Be able to explore and apply Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA).
Gain an understanding of access and provisions offered by the Indian government for students with special needs.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary professionals to help students reach their full potential.

Medium of Instruction:
A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University. Few seats are available for parents of children with special needs.
Academic Year starts:
January and July every year. The sessions are conducted on Saturdays and few government holidays across 6 months.
